Greetings from Novosibirsk!
Well, we made it. It was a very long 24 hours. Strangely enough, four hours of that time were spent in the Minneapolis Airport... our plane was over two hours delayed. They were down to one runway and everything coming and going out was late. There were some very unpeople on our plane to Chicago. I was very thankful Jane apprised us of the family line for the security checks - there were really long lines and we just breezed through! Through it all, Kayla fell asleep for the last couple of hours on the Moscow flight and slept through the Novosibirsk flight. Mostly everything went very well.
Dan and I had a chuckle as we were reminded of my comment regarding the vomit bag in an earlier post when Kayla started using it as a puppet. When I made the comment, I didn't realize they still had them on airplanes....with that said, I was very glad they still exist for their original purpose as Kayla got sick just as we landed in Moscow. Kayla will probably hate me for sharing this when she gets older.
We arrived in Novosibirsk at about 1am on Saturday morning. We met up with Nina and Genrich, picked up some grocery items and we able to check in to our apartment right away. We were asleep by 3:30am.
Kayla was up very earlier this morning, very chipper while Dan and I were dead to the world. I do love her energy! We are planning a light day today so it will be a wonderful day to recover on our sleep before tomorrow.
