The apartment

We are staying in an apartment on the fourth floor of a building near the center of the city. While we are still trying to get our bearings, it is very convenient and we will have lots to walk to.

Today, Nina showed us around. There are several small grocery stores nearby. There was a celebration of sorts in an area called Lenin Square just outside one the main drags. They had blocked off the streets to allow the pedestrians to walk around and had parades, music, etc. We had driven by Lenin Square many times but it's kind of fun to see things up close. The first picture you see is the back of some very large statues in Lenin Square.
There is an amusement park only a block away which, of course, was right up Kayla alley. There was lots of music and vendors and, of course, rides. Kayla went on the merry-go-round a couple of times and a ride called a tugboat.

The weather on Saturday is mid-seventies and beautiful. Today is Sunday and a little cooler.
Talk to you soon,
Sue and Dan

  1. Glad to hear you guys arrived safe and sound. The apartment looks nice, maybe a little small. But with those nice flower gardens there taking Kayla on walks and stuff should be a great way to pass some time.

So glad you decided to do this blog. Hopefully you'll be able to post to it often so we can keep up with the daily process.

take care, love you guys. Barb
